Arne Svenson is self taught as a photographer and was originally trained to work in special education with children. His work tends to be conceptual, but he also place a strong emphasis on craftsmanship. His most recent project called “The Neighbors” in which he shot through his and and his neighbors window has brought about a great deal of controversy about the nature of privacy. His earlier projects that feature related monographs include Prisoners (1997) and Sock Monkeys (2003) . Svenson had a solo show at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh in 2012 called “About Face”.
