Ilona Plaum

Ilona Plaum (NL, 1970) is fascinated by growth and movement of nature. Plaum transforms installations into a two-dimensional photographic image to question what space is about. Photography allows her to focus on perspective, light, shadow and depth. Within her specific research into perception, the use of techniques remains visible: drawing, cuttings, tape and reflexion. Plaum creates an elusive image in which someone’s eye moves back and forth in different dimensions. Haunted by the feeling of participation or exclusion, her work stays intriguing until the end.
